Our Mission & Investment Thesis

Mozaic is an angel syndicate from the Republic of Moldova with the mission to democratize angel investments and help tech startups with smart capital.

Our vision is to build a supportive venture ecosystem where we invest in the most promising founders & connect with smart capital investors and experts to help them build, scale their startup and change the world for the better.

Mozaic is currently backed by 20+ angel investors who are founders, executive managers, and expert professionals with different backgrounds, interested to make profitable investments both for themselves and selected startups, aspiring to partner with promising tech founders and support them in their growth journey. As of today, we have invested 1M EUR in 18 startups.

Our Investment Thesis

Investment focus: early-stage tech startups from CEE with global ambitions;

Stage: pre-seed & seed, first money in;

Amount: 25-100K EUR per deal as first check. Larger checks for follow-ons within the portfolio.

Target Model: software, B2B SaaS, vertical AI, platforms, niched marketplaces, focus on recurring revenue models;

Pipeline origin: 40% Focused research (reviewing founder applications, intros by portfolio founders, investors & existing professional network), 60% proprietary deals from Dreamups startup accelerator programs;

Methodology: deal-by-deal structure, having a Syndicator who structures the deal, and investors who approve to be part of a particular investment, giving them more control in building their investment portfolio.

Portfolio management: focus on creating maximum value per % ownership for portfolio founders through the community of investors, partners, and mentors.

About Mihai & Dima:

Mihai Stipanov is Business Angel himself and Serial Entrepreneur who contributes with understanding both Investors and Startups Perspectives. He is founder at Dreamups – the startup accelerator reaching founders in over 15 countries, in the past co-founded SaaS and Marketplaces startups. Served as the President at the local New York City chapter of “JCI” – the global organization which offers leadership development opportunities. He is also an investor in 22 startups. 

Dima Namashco is CEO at Mozaic, involved in fundraising, pipeline creation, investment decision, community growth and product development. Previously, managed the first batch of UpNext by Dreamups – traction accelerator, and worked as a Business Consultant at ProCredit Bank. Served as a President of the local Chisinau chapter of “AIESEC” – a global platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential.
